Matrix Geo Plans To Achieve ₹5 billion Revenue in Three Years

The company believes India’s geospatial industry is entering a “golden period”

Geospatial engineering firm Matrix Geo Solutions has aimed towards a ₹5 billion company within the next three years. The plan will succeed with the support of aggressive investments in AI-powered digital twin platforms, indigenous technology development, and international expansion.

The company, which completed its SME IPO last year, is also targeting nearly 50% revenue growth in FY27 after reporting around 80% growth in the previous fiscal year.

During an interaction with Electronics For You, Rahul Jain, Managing Director at Matrix Geo Solutions, said that the company is transforming from a conventional geospatial consultancy into an intelligent infrastructure technology provider. “We are developing AI- and machine learning-based digital twin platforms for railways, mining, transportation, and power infrastructure, with commercial tools expected within the next six to twelve months”, he added.

Rahul confirmed that Matrix Geo is heavily investing in R&D to build intelligent geospatial platforms that can transform infrastructure planning, monitoring and asset management.

The company provides geospatial consulting, engineering services, proprietary software, drone surveys, and drone-based mapping solutions for large infrastructure projects such as railways, water resources, mining, power, roads, and urban development.

Its proprietary AI-enabled software processes drone, satellite, LiDAR, and other geospatial datasets to automate image analysis, infrastructure inspection, predictive analytics, and decision-making. According to the company, AI significantly reduces manual analysis time while improving the accuracy of infrastructure planning and monitoring.

Rahul shared that the company has made applications, which can automatically detect railway track defects, count large public gatherings using drone imagery, identify trees and habitations along infrastructure corridors, and support predictive maintenance through edge computing.

Apart from software, Matrix Geo Solutions is also creating cost-effective indigenous hardware by integrating globally sourced sensors with its own software platforms. The company is working on drones, DGPS systems, underwater survey equipment, and eco-sounding solutions aimed at reducing dependence on expensive imported technologies.

“Rather than building every component from scratch, we are focused on integrating proven international sensors with proprietary software to create affordable solutions tailored for Indian infrastructure projects”, emphasised Rahul.

While India remains its fastest-growing market, Matrix Geo Solutions is rapidly expanding internationally, particularly in Africa. The company currently operates in Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya, and plans to enter at least ten African countries over the next few years.

According to Rahul, Africa presents significant opportunities because of its accelerating infrastructure development, while India’s geospatial sector continues to benefit from strong government support and increasing adoption across railways, water resources, mining, and smart infrastructure.

The company believes India’s geospatial industry is entering a “golden period” following government initiatives promoting geospatial data liberalisation and increased investments in digital infrastructure. Programmes such as railway modernisation, river-linking projects, Swamitva, Naksha, and large-scale infrastructure development are creating substantial demand for advanced mapping and digital twin technologies.

Matrix Geo Solutions has contributed to several landmark projects, including the Bullet Train, Chenab Bridge, Anji Bridge, Statue of Unity, multiple river-linking initiatives, ropeway projects, and large-scale railway and power infrastructure surveys.

Despite the sector’s momentum, Rahul highlighted limited availability of high-end Indian drones suitable for large-area mapping, import restrictions, operational permissions in red-zone regions, and weather-related constraints as key challenges affecting the industry’s growth.

Even so, the company remains confident that advances in AI, cloud computing, digital twins, and geospatial analytics will redefine infrastructure planning over the coming years.

With ambitious revenue targets, expanding international operations, and increasing investments in intelligent geospatial technologies, Matrix Geo Solutions is positioning itself to become one of India’s leading players in next-generation infrastructure intelligence.
