Partnering with Schneider Electric, green energy, electronics, and construction labs take shape as a ₹50 million partnership sparks a statewide upgrade in vocational training across Andhra Pradesh’s institutes.
The Andhra Pradesh government has partnered with Schneider Electric India Foundation to enhance skill-based training facilities across the state. This collaboration aims to improve vocational education and increase employment opportunities for youth.
Signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC), Schneider Electric India Foundation will invest around ₹50 million to set up 20 advanced training laboratories.
The funds will cover essential training equipment, consumables, digital content, and the establishment of training of trainers (ToT) programmes. The labs will be established in government-run Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Polytechnic Colleges, and National Academy of Construction (NAC) centres.
These will provide hands-on training in sectors like electronics, green energy, and construction. The initiative is expected to train over 9000 students across Andhra Pradesh in the coming years, according to officials. It seeks to bridge the gap between vocational education and industry needs, aligning training programmes with global standards.
While Schneider Electric will provide technical expertise and placement support, APSSDC will oversee the infrastructure and student mobilisation for the courses.
This collaboration reflects the state’s broader strategy to enhance youth employability through public-private partnerships in vocational education. It is part of a growing trend of private organisations working alongside state governments to address skill shortages in emerging industries.
