Marking its next phase of global growth in India, DigiKey launches a new capability centre in Bengaluru to strengthen operations, innovation, and talent integration across worldwide markets.
DigiKey, a global distributor of electronic components and automation products, has officially launched its Indian subsidiary, Digi-Key Electronics & Automation Trading Private Limited, in Bengaluru. The new global capability centre (GCC) will support the company’s international operations and form part of its broader global expansion strategy.
According to the company, the Bengaluru centre will employ around 300 professionals, who will work alongside DigiKey’s 4700 employees worldwide. The GCC is intended to enhance operational support, digital processes, and collaboration across the company’s global network. DigiKey said the facility is also expected to facilitate future growth in hiring and capability development.
Dave Doherty, Chief Executive Officer of DigiKey, said the opening of the GCC marks a significant step in the company’s global strategy. “India’s technology ecosystem and skilled workforce are key to our continued success in the region,” he said. “We look forward to strengthening our presence and expanding our capabilities through this new centre.”
DigiKey, headquartered in Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA, supplies more than 17 million components from over 3000 manufacturers worldwide. The company serves engineers, designers, and procurement professionals with a range of electronic and automation products, as well as digital sourcing and design tools.
The Bengaluru launch adds India to DigiKey’s list of operational bases aimed at supporting global supply chains and digital initiatives. The company noted that the establishment of the GCC demonstrates its continued focus on improving customer support and operational efficiency worldwide.
