Expanding beyond water infrastructure, Enviro Infra secures major orders and enters the battery storage market, aiming to address India’s growing needs for renewable integration.
Enviro Infra Engineers Limited has secured five projects worth a combined ₹14.81 billion in March 2026, strengthening its order book and improving revenue visibility for the coming quarters, according to a report by Machine Maker.
A significant portion of the new orders marks the company’s entry into the battery energy storage system (BESS) segment, with projects awarded by NTPC Limited. This development is a diversification into energy infrastructure alongside its existing operations in water and wastewater treatment.
The BESS contracts, valued at over ₹10.7 billion, represent a move into a segment gaining importance in India’s power sector. Energy storage systems are increasingly being deployed to support renewable energy integration, stabilise grids and manage peak demand, particularly as renewable capacity expands.
The projects also extend the company’s footprint into states including Bihar, Assam and Telangana.
Meanwhile, India’s energy storage market remains at an early stage, with capacity levels currently below projected requirements. However, growth is expected as renewable energy adoption increases and battery costs decline, creating demand for storage solutions within the power ecosystem.
The company’s chairman, Sanjay Jain, said the new orders reflect the company’s efforts to diversify into renewable energy-linked infrastructure.
He noted that storage systems will play a role in enabling a more consistent power supply and supporting the transition towards cleaner energy sources.
Despite the expansion into energy storage, Enviro Infra continues to focus on its core business areas, including water and wastewater management, with 15 years of experience, where it provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services. It also undertakes operations and maintenance of completed projects.
