GigaDevice And Qt Group Partner to Advance the Embedded GUI Ecosystem

The collaboration showcases a major step in strengthening the embedded hardware and software ecosystem

GigaDevice has recently partnered with Qt Group to advance embedded graphical user interface (GUI) solutions using its high-performance GD32H7 MCU series.

Under this collaboration, both companies will optimise and enhance embedded GUI capabilities. This process will help developers build more intuitive, visually engaging, and highly responsive user experiences.

This partnership will also boost GigaDevice’s ecosystem strategy in advanced human-machine interface (HMI) technologies. Also, it will provide support for innovation across smart industrial systems, energy storage solutions, smart home products, and consumer electronics.

As industries such as IoT, industrial automation, energy storage, and connected devices continue to expand, demand for sophisticated, user-friendly HMIs is increasing significantly. GigaDevice’s GD32H7 MCU family, equipped with powerful processing performance, advanced graphics capabilities, and industrial-grade reliability, provides a robust foundation for next-generation HMI applications. Meanwhile, Qt Group’s Qt for MCUs framework offers an efficient cross-platform development environment, high-performance graphical rendering, and an extensive UI component library, making it a preferred choice for embedded applications worldwide.

Under the partnership, GigaDevice and Qt Group will focus on three key areas. First, they will jointly optimise and validate Qt for MCUs on the GD32H7 platform to improve system performance and streamline development workflows. Second, they will develop reference designs, software frameworks, and best-practice guidelines tailored to specific application segments, helping developers accelerate product development and shorten time-to-market. Third, the companies will expand the developer ecosystem through technical training programs, community engagement initiatives, joint marketing activities, and customer support efforts.

“Building a comprehensive MCU ecosystem has always been a core part of GigaDevice’s strategy,” said Vincent Li, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the MCU Business Unit at GigaDevice. “Qt Group’s expertise in embedded GUI development and its strong developer community complement our vision of serving premium customers and enhancing product competitiveness. By combining the hardware strengths of the GD32H7 series with the software capabilities of Qt for MCUs, we can provide development teams with an integrated platform that enables faster innovation and more differentiated end-user experiences.”

Michele Rossi, Director of Qt for MCUs Product Management at Qt Group, highlighted the challenges embedded developers face in bringing advanced HMI products to market. He noted that significant time is often spent optimising graphics software on new hardware platforms before meaningful UI development can begin. According to Rossi, the collaboration with GigaDevice aims to eliminate this bottleneck by delivering a streamlined development environment. He added that Qt for MCUs has already demonstrated strong performance in automotive, industrial, and consumer applications worldwide, and this partnership extends those capabilities to one of the fastest-growing MCU platforms in the market.

The collaboration represents a significant step forward in strengthening the embedded hardware and software ecosystem. Both companies, through this partnership, have an agenda to offer more seamless development experience and a broader portfolio of integrated solutions for next-generation intelligent devices.
