Indofast Energy plans to deploy over 50,000 vehicles in the next year, strengthening GEML’s position in the electric mobility sector.
Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML), a subsidiary of Greaves Cotton Limited, has partnered with Indofast Energy, a joint venture between Indian Oil and SUN Mobility. The collaboration aims to enhance last-mile transportation for B2B fleets and ride-sharing services by integrating battery-swapping technology with electric two-wheelers.
The partnership introduces the Ampere ‘Magnus SW.S’, powered by Indofast Energy’s battery-swapping technology. Designed for gig economy riders covering long distances daily, this solution seeks to reduce downtime with quick battery swaps. Through Indofast Energy’s expanding battery-swapping network, users can replace depleted batteries with fully charged ones, reducing operational costs and improving efficiency.
Ampere ‘Magnus SW.S’ has a motor power of 2.4 kW, supporting performance on steep gradients and under heavy loads. The scooter has a payload capacity of 151 kg, making it suitable for commercial applications. Its IoT-enabled features enhance connectivity and fleet management.
Arun Srivastava, Head of B2B Business at Greaves Electric Mobility, stated that integrating battery-swapping technology with the Magnus platform will enable efficient and sustainable operations for businesses and gig economy riders.
Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President at Indofast Energy, highlighted that this vehicle will be available for fleets and driver-operators through Ampere’s network. Indofast Energy plans to deploy over 50,000 vehicles in the next year through fleet partners and driver-owners.
This partnership strengthens Greaves Electric Mobility’s position in the electric mobility sector, offering sustainable transportation solutions with a focus on efficiency and operational cost savings.
