This investment will strengthen Gujarat’s growing semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem
Malaysia-based Hotayi Electronics, a key supply chain partner of global memory chipmaker Micron Technology, has recently announced plans to invest around ₹7 billion over the next 10 years to set up an advanced semiconductor and electronics manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat.
This announcement was made after the Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi handed over the Offer-cum-Allotment (OCA) letter for land allotted at Sanand-II GIDC.
The five hectares of land have been allotted by the Gujarat government for the facility. Advanced DRAM memory modules, Solid-State Drives (SSDs), server and data centre memory modules, along with automotive electronics products such as LED lighting and infotainment modules will be manufactured at this facility.
The investment is expected to further strengthen Gujarat’s growing semiconductor and electronics manufacturing ecosystem, which has emerged as a key focus area under India’s semiconductor ambitions.
“Gujarat has emerged as the first-choice destination for global technology companies due to its world-class infrastructure and industry-friendly policies,” Sanghavi stated, adding that the project will accelerate adoption of smart manufacturing and AI-driven automation technologies, while generating large-scale employment opportunities
