In a first of its kind launch, Satechi has come out with a ‘Touch USB LED Lamp’, which turns empty bottles like those of soda, liquor and water into USB-powered LED lamps that can be turned on with a simple tap. The environment-friendly USB-powered LED Lamp is available at $25. As the bulb on the lamp is an LED, Satechi claims it’ll provide 50,000 hours of light while only consuming 1.2W of power, according to ‘Ubergizmo’. Amid concerns over global warming, people, who now favour a green life, may look forward to Satechi’s Touch USB LED Lamp to reuse their empty bottles rather than throwing them out. Apart from illuminating households, the lamps will surely generate curiosity from the visitors.
Satechi says that the consumers simply need to place the lamp into the opening of a bottle, plug the lamp desk into a USB port, and touch the silver top of the lamp for an instant environment-friendly lamp. Moreover, the simple design and white colour of the lamp fits into any decor, especially combined with the ability to customise the base of the lamp by using the empty bottles. A consumer may change the bottle according to the mood or new furniture, or showcase a bottle saved from a special occasion.
Just by touching the silver disc at the top of the lamp, one can simply turn on and off the lamp, which is lightweight and remains cool to the touch. It can also be easily transported to provide light where the need is.
The Touch Lamp can be powered from any available USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, which is perfect for using the lamp at the user’s desk or home office. The Touch USB LED Lamp uses LEDs which contain no mercury and use less power than incandescent and fluorescent lamps. This unique lamp could surely be seen as a relief to environment campaigners seeking technologies that aid people without harming the nature.
