Tapping into India’s growing intercity mobility demand, IntrCity SmartBus secured billions to expand routes and enhance tech platforms.
IntrCity SmartBus, a tech-enabled intercity bus network platform, has raised ₹2.5 billion in a Series D funding round led by venture capital firm A91 Partners, the company announced on Wednesday. The fresh capital will be used to enhance customer experience, strengthen its fleet management technology, and expand coverage to more Tier-II and Tier-III cities across India.
The company, which currently operates over 630 routes in 15 states, plans to double its fleet and achieve a ₹10 billion turnover by next year. “IntrCity SmartBus continues to scale up organically and profitably, maintaining 50 percent year-over-year growth,” said Kapil Raizada, co-founder and president. “This new capital enables us to further transform the bus travel landscape and deepen our reach.”
Manish Rathi, co-founder and CEO, said the investment will help boost customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and network expansion. The company’s asset-light model allows partner operators to scale quickly while leveraging IntrCity’s proprietary technology, including an IoT-enabled fleet analytics system, operator dashboards, and crew management tools for real-time tracking and predictive maintenance.
A91 Partners’ general partner Gautam Mago praised the company’s strong execution and trusted brand, noting its potential to become a category leader in intercity mobility.
IntrCity’s companion brand, RailYatri, continues to complement its ecosystem with over 12 million monthly users booking train tickets and accessing travel insights.
