Fueling India’s solar push, Jakson Engineers will pour ₹80 billion into Madhya Pradesh to build an integrated solar plant in two phases, promising massive employment.
Jakson Engineers will invest more than ₹80 billion to build a 6GW integrated solar manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh. According to a report by The Economic Times, this marks the state’s one of the largest investment in the renewable energy sector to date.
The company, part of the Jakson Group, confirmed that the project will be located at Maksi Phase II on a 110-acre (approximately 44.52 hectares) site recently allotted by the state government. Work on the site is expected to begin within the next two weeks.
The project will be developed in two stages. Phase I will involve an investment of about ₹20 billion to establish 3GW of solar module and 3GW of solar cell production capacity. The second phase will add a 6GW wafer plant, alongside another 3GW each of module and cell capacity, with an investment exceeding ₹60 billion.
Jakson expects the first solar modules to roll off the production line by May 2026, while cell production is scheduled to begin in September 2026.
Vice Chairman of Jakson Group, Sundeep Gupta, described the investment as a milestone for both the company and India’s clean energy drive.
Joint Managing Director and CEO of Jakson Solar Modules and Cells, Gagan Chanana, said the fully integrated facility will support India’s goal of becoming a global solar manufacturing hub. He noted that Jakson’s ‘four-in-one’ model, covering manufacturing, development, EPC and O&M, will allow greater efficiency, lower costs, and faster adoption of new technology.
The company chose Madhya Pradesh for its central location, supportive policies, and infrastructure. The project is expected to create over 1000 jobs during construction and about 1400 permanent roles once operational.
