The collaboration underscores the huge demand for flexible broadband solutions that meet next-generation connectivity requirements
MaxLinear and GCT have recently announced a collaboration to create an advanced AnyWAN™ converged gateway solution designed to improve fixed wireless access (FWA) connectivity and enterprise networking performance.
FWA has emerged as one of the fastest-growing broadband access technologies, providing high-speed internet connectivity wherever cellular coverage is available. With cellular data speeds now reaching gigabit levels, FWA is becoming a cost-effective and high-performance option for both service providers and consumers.
For enterprise users requiring reliable and flexible WAN connectivity, converged gateways combine multiple WAN interfaces such as fiber, cable, and cellular networks. These gateways support multi-gigabit data rates through technologies including channel bonding, traffic shaping, and SD-WAN capabilities.
To address the need for reliable, seamless connectivity migration across diverse WAN links, MaxLinear and GCT have integrated MaxLinear’s Wi-Fi technology with GCT’s cellular modem solutions. The collaboration combines expertise in Wi-Fi, network processing, 5G, and LTE cellular technologies to create a high-performance and cost-efficient converged gateway platform.
The AnyWAN™ integration enables dynamic switching between multiple WAN technologies, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity while improving overall network reliability. The solution is also expected to help OEM customers design cost-optimised FWA gateways while reducing deployment expenses.
The partnership highlights the growing demand for flexible broadband solutions that meet next-generation connectivity requirements across consumer and enterprise applications.
