The companies extend their collaboration to produce fan blades for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 700 and 10X jet engines.
Rolls-Royce signs an agreement with Bharat Forge Ltd to manufacture and supply fan blades for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 700 and Pearl 10X engines. The partnership expands their existing partnership and supports Rolls-Royce’s plan to double its supply chain sourcing from India by 2030.
Bharat Forge has been supplying components for the Pearl 700 engine and delivered its first zero-defect fan blade in 2024. The new contract adds production for the Pearl 10X engine, which strengthens Bharat Forge’s role in Rolls-Royce’s global manufacturing network.
Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, Ltd., said, “This expanded partnership with Rolls-Royce reflects our shared commitment to engineering excellence and long-term collaboration.”
Sashi Mukundan, Executive Vice President – Transformation, Rolls-Royce India, says the partnership continues the company’s supply collaboration in India. “This agreement extends our work with Bharat Forge in developing aerospace manufacturing in India,” he says.
In this partnership, Bharath Forge is going to supply fan blades for Rolls-Royce’s Pearl 10X engine, which uses the Advance2 core and a low-pressure system, generates more than 18,000lb of thrust and powers large business jets. The expansion of local manufacturing for such engine parts reflects Rolls-Royce’s approach to building a wider global supply base and India’s growing participation in aerospace manufacturing.
Bharat Forge has been a key supplier to Rolls-Royce since the inception of the Pearl 700 Programme, consistently delivering high-quality machined blades. It’s also keen to invest and grow with long-term partnerships with leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers worldwide.
