Accelerating India’s EV transition, Statiq and BMW Group India will install fast chargers along key highways and urban corridors nationwide.
Statiq has partnered with BMW Group India to establish a nationwide high-power electric vehicle charging network aimed at transforming long-distance electric mobility. The collaboration will enable seamless electrification of India’s major driving corridors, ensuring fast chargers of at least 120 kW are available every 300–350 kilometers.
The initiative has already created a robust charging corridor spanning over 4,000 kilometers from Jammu to Madurai. The network includes high-speed chargers located along key highways and public spaces, accessible to all EV users regardless of brand. BMW customers can locate and access these chargers through the myBMW app, promoting convenient, reliable, and accessible charging infrastructure across India.
Akshit Bansal, Founder and CEO of Statiq, said the partnership marks a defining moment for India’s EV ecosystem, addressing range anxiety and enabling long-distance electric travel. BMW Group India’s President and CEO, Hardeep Singh Brar, emphasised that the collaboration supports the company’s commitment to expanding charging infrastructure and enhancing the EV ownership experience, with chargers offering up to 720 kW capacity at customer-friendly locations such as cafés and rest stops.
Statiq currently operates over 8,000 chargers in 70 cities and plans to install 20,000 charging points by 2026. Through strategic partnerships and digital integration, the company aims to build a scalable, user-friendly network that accelerates India’s transition to clean and connected mobility.
