To strengthen global client ties and drive new business growth, Tata Electronics is reportedly expanding in North America, hiring professionals across the US in major roles.
Tata Electronics is reportedly seeking to strengthen its presence in North America by hiring over 20 technical and sales-focused professionals across California.
The company, a contract manufacturing arm of the Tata Group, has posted on LinkedIn inviting engineers passionate about product reliability and business growth to join its expanding team.
The key roles include sales directors for outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) services, with positions available in cities such as Fremont, Hayward, San Mateo, Alameda, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
According to the Economic Times, these hires will be crucial in attracting new clients for the company’s forthcoming OSAT facility in Assam.
The job description for the OSAT sales director role highlights responsibilities such as leading business development efforts to secure new customers, generating leads, and guiding them through various stages, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), promotions, requests for quotation (RFQs), and contracting processes.
Tata Electronics is also recruiting for additional roles, including hardware electronics engineers in electronics manufacturing service (EMS), customer engineering managers in the semiconductor supply chain and EV automotive electronics, as well as hardware enterprise programme managers in mobile electronics/EMS.
These positions span multiple locations across California. The job descriptions indicate that successful candidates will serve as primary technical contacts for major global clients and will be driving business growth.
Industry experts believe that Tata Electronics’ recruitment drive is part of a strategy to strengthen client relationships and attract new business. With a strong presence with Apple, the company aims to leverage this advantage to expand among other major US tech firms. Experts noted that establishing a physical presence in the US would support the company’s EMS services and its upcoming fab and OSAT facilities.
To fuel its growth, Tata Electronics is also making strategic acquisitions, including a 60% stake in Pegatron Technology India and Wistron’s India operations. The company is looking to diversify its portfolio beyond Apple, with reports suggesting talks with firms like Xiaomi, Oppo, Microsoft, Dell, and HP to enter new product categories like laptops and PCs.
