Could smaller Indian cities become Apple’s next growth engine? Unicorn plans 50 new stores and higher revenue as demand expands beyond metros.
Unicorn Infosolutions, Apple’s largest premium retail and service partner in India, plans to expand its network by opening 50 additional stores over the next three years while targeting revenue of ₹55 billion to ₹60 billion during the same period.
The announcement was made by Unicorn Director Baljinder Paul Singh during the inauguration of the company’s 100th store. The expansion would increase Unicorn’s retail footprint to 150 outlets nationwide, strengthening its presence in both established and emerging markets.
The company reported revenue of ₹37 billion in the financial year 2025-26 and expects future growth to be supported by increasing consumer interest in Apple products, particularly in smaller cities where physical access to Apple devices and services remains limited.
According to Singh, the company sees significant opportunities in tier-3 and tier-4 cities, where many consumers have had limited exposure to Apple’s product ecosystem. He said the opening of retail outlets offering product demonstrations, sales support and after-sales services has encouraged customer engagement in these markets.
Founded with its first single-brand Apple store in Ahmedabad in 2006, Unicorn now operates 100 stores across 49 cities in nine states. Of these, 31 outlets are located in shopping malls, while 69 are situated in high-street locations. The company currently has 47 stores in northern India and 53 in western India.
Singh said Unicorn’s business has been growing by approximately 15-20 per cent annually and could accelerate as the company enters new markets. He also cited demand for newer products, including the MacBook Neo, as a potential growth driver, particularly among students seeking entry-level Apple devices.
The company expects flexible financing options, including instalment-based purchase plans, to continue supporting customer demand as it expands its retail network.
