Gujarat witnessed unveiling of intelligent energy controller (IEC) mounted on 3.4 KW solar system at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar. Gujarat’s principal secretary of energy and petrochemicals DJ Pandian dedicated the system to Solar School situated in the campus of the university. IEC is a technology which can simulate yields from every solar panel to utilize the potential of the panel to the fullest. This ultimately facilitates generation of 10 to 20% extra power. This IEC technology is the latest invention of technocrat and former advisor to Prime Minister of India Mr. P S Deodhar and he has also got a patent for the same. He is also known for his contribution through introduction of ATM machine and as a father of master card system in India. “With the adoption of IEC technology, any new solar power plant will require panels lesser than the existing plant of similar capacity. This clearly implies huge saving in capital cost and reduction in recurring expenses. Considering the heavy cost attached with such plants, this will definitely work in the long-term interest of the country,” read the media statement by Aplab Group, which is chaired by Deodhar. “As far as solar power generation is concerned, the future is very bright as never before thanks to the level of awareness in the country particularly in states like in Gujarat,” Deodhar said. Aplab has joined hands with Motivation Engineers & Infrastructure to give Gujarat the first-mover advantage of the technology and help the state achieve its goal of becoming solar power hub in the world, read the company statement.
