Analog Devices Releases 2022 ESG Report, Demonstrating Commitment to Sustainability

  • Analog Devices, a global semiconductor leader, has unveiled its 2022 Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, showcasing the company’s dedication to sustainability.
  • ADI’s commitment to driving positive change through its technologies remains unwavering.

As a global semiconductor leader, ADI’s solutions play a pivotal role in bridging the physical and digital worlds, benefiting society and the planet. The report showcases ADI’s remarkable achievements in various areas, including its growing green revenue, the introduction of a new water reduction goal, and enhanced transparency in disclosures.

ADI’s relentless pursuit of innovation has propelled the company to the forefront of semiconductor and system solution design. With a focus on industrial, automotive, communications, digital healthcare, and consumer markets, ADI collaborates with customers to co-create groundbreaking innovations that enhance quality of life and tackle pressing global challenges. In fiscal year 2022, green revenue accounted for approximately 30% of ADI’s total revenue, marking a significant increase of around 34% from the previous fiscal year. Additionally, ADI allocated about 30% of its research and development (R&D) efforts towards green-focused initiatives, maintaining consistency with the previous fiscal year.

As part of ADI’s ongoing commitment to water conservation, the company has set an ambitious target to achieve a 50% reduction in total water withdrawal normalized to fab production output by 2027. This new goal complements ADI’s progress in attaining a 25% water recycling rate in its manufacturing facilities. By focusing on reducing water consumption and improving efficiency, ADI aims to make a significant impact on water conservation efforts and environmental sustainability.

ADI maintains a strong commitment to transparency and accurate disclosures, ensuring that stakeholders are well-informed. In the 2022 ESG Report, ADI has introduced a new section, ESG Results, that provides a comprehensive breakdown of ESG performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Each KPI is defined, values are provided, and where applicable, they are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By enhancing transparency, ADI seeks to foster trust and accountability among its stakeholders.

ADI’s relentless pursuit of sustainability has yielded significant progress across key areas:

Climate: ADI achieved a remarkable 7.2% decrease in absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions since 2019. The company also recorded a remarkable 37% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions intensity by revenue during the same period. Furthermore, ADI made a groundbreaking move by disclosing full Scope 3 emissions, a crucial step toward achieving its goal of Net Zero emissions across the value chain by 2050 or sooner.

Energy: ADI is on track to achieve its renewable energy target, with 54% of the electricity used in its manufacturing facilities sourced from renewables in 2022. The company is committed to reaching 100% renewable energy usage by 2025.

Waste: ADI has made significant strides toward its waste diversion goal, achieving a remarkable 90% diversion rate at its manufacturing facilities in 2022. ADI remains steadfast in its efforts to achieve a 100% waste diversion rate.

ADI’s ESG report serves as a testament to the company’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and driving positive change. By leveraging its technological expertise, ADI continues to contribute to a more sustainable future for both humanity and the planet.
