India-US Partnership To Uplift Electronics Sector to $100 Bn By 2033

  • ICEA represents the entire electronics ecosystem in India
  • The goal is to elevate the current Indo-US electronics trade

In order to strengthen their trade relations in electronics sector India and the United States have announced several initiatives.

The goal is to elevate the current Indo-US electronics trade, currently at $8 billion, to an ambitious $100 billion within the next decade; this initiative follows collaborative efforts initiated after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to the United States last month.

Indian Cellular & Electronics Association (ICEA) has made a dedicated task force to achieve this goal.  ICEA is an apex industry body, that represents the entire electronics ecosystem in India, including components, subassemblies, EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), and finished goods across various Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) verticals, such as mobile phones, consumer electronics, and IT hardware.

The partnership between India and U.S  will strengthen policy and regulatory adaptations towards technology sharing, co-development, and co-production opportunities between the two countries’ industries.

ICEA Chairman Pankaj Mohindroo highlighted the partnership’s potential to usher in a new era of innovation and collaboration between India and the US. While leading firms in global value chains will play a pivotal role, the partnership is also expected to create new job opportunities and avenues for Indian businesses and startups, contributing to economic growth and technological advancement.
