Waaree Energies And IRCON Renewable Power Unite To Drive India’s Clean Energy Transition

This alliance marks a significant stride in India’s renewable energy landscape, reflecting the global transition towards renewable energy sources in the face of climate change challenges.

In a groundbreaking move within the renewable energy sector, Waaree Energies Limited announced a strategic partnership with IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. This collaboration aims to supply over 200 MW of DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) category solar PV modules, further bolstering India’s clean energy transition. IRCON Renewable Power Ltd., a subsidiary of the renowned public sector enterprise IRCON International Ltd., operates as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) dedicated to establishing a colossal 500 MW grid-connected solar PV project. This ambitious project was awarded by the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA), solidifying India’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The solar PV modules provided by Waaree Energies Limited will be used in Pavagada, Karnataka, marking a significant stride in the nation’s renewable energy landscape.

Commenting on this landmark partnership, Sandesh Shetty, National Sales Head of Waaree Energies Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the alignment of their mission with IRCON, stating, “Leveraging solar energy to propel India’s clean energy transition is a mission that we at Waaree share with IRCON. We take immense pride in our unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability in our products. It is a pleasure to collaborate with the dedicated team at IRCON and contribute to this monumental undertaking with our solar PV modules.”

The company boasts an impressive capacity of 12 GW and stands as India’s largest solar module manufacturer in terms of installed capacity. The company also operates as an independent power producer, reinforcing its influence in the renewable energy sphere. With a widespread presence spanning numerous locations in India and a global footprint that extends to over 20 countries as of June 30, 2023, Waaree Energies Limited continues to play a pivotal role in the expansion of sustainable energy solutions both domestically and internationally.

This strategic alliance not only fortifies India’s commitment to clean energy but also underscores the importance of collaboration in achieving ambitious renewable energy targets. The partnership between Waaree Energies Limited and IRCON Renewable Power Ltd. represents a milestone in the nation’s journey towards a greener, more sustainable future, with benefits that extend far beyond regional borders. As the world grapples with the challenges of climate change, such initiatives serve as beacons of hope and models of progress in the global transition to renewable energy sources.
