JPFL Films Commits ₹2.5B To Capacity Expansion

Targeting to double production by 2025, JPFL Films is supercharging its capacitor film business with a CAPEX of ₹2.5 billion. Enhancing local manufacturing? Yes.

JPFL Films Pvt Ltd, specialising in flexible packaging and part of the BC Jindal Group, has announced full capacity utilisation in its capacitor film business. With a capital expenditure commitment of ₹2.5 billion by 2025, the company is leveraging its technical success and positive feedback from customers in India. It plans to double its capacity to meet the increasing market demand.

This expansion aims to strengthen the company’s focus on technology, quality, cost optimisation, and innovation. The enhanced capacity will ensure a reliable supply of locally manufactured technical films, supporting growth across various sectors, including electronics, automotive, and energy storage.

JPFL offers a range of polypropylene-based capacitor films, including base films, hazy films, and metallised capacitor films, with customisable designs and patterns available. The company highlighted a recent endorsement from electronics component manufacturer TDK Corporation, which praised it for its product quality and services, especially its BOPP films.

Commenting on the matter, Dr Mahesh N Gopalasamudram, Dy CEO (Growth Division), stated, “This expansion is in line with our aim to contribute to the Make in India initiative of the government, thereby reducing import dependency. With the help of advanced machinery and state-of-art testing facilities, we are working towards supporting the industry to become self-reliant and shorten developmental lead times.”

JPFL employs advanced machinery to enhance its offerings. This modifies the film surface roughness on both sides and creates customised metallising patterns for customer needs. Another standout feature of JPFL’s capacitor films is their high breakdown voltage, which has improved through ongoing process refinements.

Additionally, the company boasts its testing facilities, including advanced pinhole testing, which ensures that all products adhere to quality and reliability standards.

Based in Delhi NCR, Jindal Poly Films has been in business since 1996. It claims to be one of the leading flexible packaging manufacturers in India, with over 2,500 employees concentrating on innovation and stakeholder value.
