Powering India’s green future with another MoU, Jupiter International teams up with Odisha to invest ₹20.05 billion in a solar cell manufacturing plant in Khordha.
Jupiter International has entered into a partnership with the Odisha Government to set up a new facility for manufacturing photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and modules in Khordha, Odisha. The company plans to invest ₹20.05 billion through its subsidiary, Jupiter Renewables, to establish the unit.
According to the Kolkata-based company, this plant will be capable of producing 4.2GW of solar cells and 3.6GW of modules annually, contributing to the strengthening of India’s solar manufacturing industry.
The agreement was formalised during the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, held on 28 and 29 January, where key discussions were held about advancing the country’s solar manufacturing sector and promoting the transition to clean energy.
Jupiter highlighted that this move aligns with Odisha’s growing role as an industrial hub and supports the national renewable energy target of 500GW by 2030.
“By integrating advanced solar cell and module manufacturing, this facility will help strengthening and creating a sustainable supply chain that supports India’s clean energy transition,” noted Alok Garodia, Managing Director of Jupiter International, describing the investment as a significant milestone.
Furthermore, this project is part of Jupiter International’s broader expansion strategy, which includes plans to achieve 3GW of wafer capacity, 9.4GW of solar cell capacity, and 6GW of module production within the next three years.
The company is focused on creating a vertically integrated supply chain to enhance quality, reduce costs, and improve resilience.
