To upgrade coach displays, emergency lighting, and passenger information systems, MIC Electronics lands almost ₹17 million orders from Indian Railways.
MIC Electronics Limited has recently been awarded two contracts by Indian Railways, totalling over ₹17 million. The first contract, valued at approximately ₹11.15 million (₹11,150,332.60), comes from the Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (DDU) railway division of the East Central Railway Zone.
MIC Electronics will supply and install Electronic Coach Indication Boards (CIB) for Platform No. 7 at DDU, a fare display board for the UTS/PRS counter, and other amenities such as a video wall. This initiative aims to modernise passenger information systems and improve the overall travel experience at the station.
In addition, the company has secured an order worth ₹6 million for Emergency Lighting Units (ELU) from Indian Railways. These units are designed to provide uninterrupted lighting during power outages and emergencies, ensuring passenger safety.
The ELUs will undergo pilot testing on Vande Bharat trains, with final approval expected within 15 to 25 days if the trials are successful.
The product has already received Capacity and Caliber Assessment (CCA) approval from the Rail Coach Factory (RCF), and a phased rollout will follow based on performance evaluations and feedback from railway authorities.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Telangana, MIC’s previous projects include the successful completion of a train display board project for the Ratlam Division of the Western Railway Zone. This involved the installation of advanced digital solutions like train display boards, coach guidance systems, and GPS clocks across 33 stations.
