Lantronix, Aerora Partner For AI Robotics

With NDAA-compliant systems, integrated thermal imaging, and Qualcomm-powered modules, the collaboration aims to fast-track OEM development and redefine autonomous navigation across industries.

In a major development for the edge AI and drone technology sector, Lantronix Inc., a prominent global provider of compute and connectivity solutions, has announced a strategic collaboration with Aerora, a key player in advanced propulsion, ground control, and precision AI payload systems. This partnership is set to accelerate innovation in autonomous navigation across drones, robotics, and surveillance systems.

The integrated solution is built around Lantronix’s Open-Q System-on-Module (SoM), which runs on Qualcomm chipsets and brings powerful AI processing for visual navigation, real-time decision-making, and situational awareness. Aerora is embedding this technology into its OEM platform, creating plug-and-play systems that reduce the engineering burden on drone and robotics manufacturers.

By integrating Teledyne FLIR’s Hadron 640R imaging module and Prism software into its platform, Aerora enables drones to simultaneously stream 4K video and high-resolution thermal imaging. These capabilities are essential for industries like defense, agriculture, public safety, and infrastructure inspection, where precise visual data is critical.

This joint solution addresses a growing market. According to Grandview Research, the global drone market could reach $163.6 billion by 2030, with a projected CAGR of 15%. The U.S. Federal Government also continues to support commercial drone innovation, highlighting the importance of NDAA-compliant systems like Aerora’s.

Aerora’s full-stack integration includes a camera, gimbal, motors, telemetry, and control interfaces—offering a ready-to-deploy solution for drone OEMs. By combining Lantronix’s edge computing expertise with Aerora’s AI-powered payload systems, the collaboration aims to speed up product development and reduce time-to-market for next-gen unmanned systems.

“Our mission is to deliver scalable, NDAA-compliant imaging solutions for drone manufacturers,” said Ghel Ghedh, CTO of Aerora. “Through our work with Lantronix and Qualcomm, we’re providing flexible, high-performance platforms that help OEMs meet the evolving needs of the market with confidence and speed.”
