Adani Group To Invest $60 Billion In Power By FY32

Powering India’s green future, Adani Group announces massive investment in renewable energy, transmission, and distribution by FY32.

The Adani Group has announced plans to invest $60 billion across renewable energy, power generation, and transmission and distribution by FY32.

In an investor presentation, the conglomerate projected over $21 billion in investments by FY30 to expand its renewable energy capacity from 14.2 GW in FY25 to 50 GW by the end of the decade. By FY32, Adani aims to lift this capacity further to 57 GW, in line with India’s rapidly growing renewable energy demand.

The group’s renewable arm, Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL), is spearheading the efforts with utility-scale solar and wind projects, including what is touted as the world’s largest renewable park at Khavda in Gujarat. Meanwhile, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) will handle transmission, distribution, and smart metering. AESL alone plans to invest over $17 billion to scale its network, targeting 30,000 km of transmission lines by FY30, up from 19,200 km at present.

Adani Power Ltd will contribute significantly, with $22 billion earmarked to raise capacity to 41.7 GW by FY32 from the current 17.6 GW. This expansion will cover multiple states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu.

India’s renewable sector is projected to cross 170 GW by FY25 and could reach 570 GW by FY32. The Adani Group’s massive bet aligns with this growth, aiming to capture opportunities arising from industrialisation, data centres, and urbanisation.

With these investments, the group seeks to cement its leadership in clean energy while contributing to India’s long-term sustainability goals.
