The initiative strengthens Tata Power’s growing EZ Charge network as India accelerates the adoption of electric mobility.
Tata Power EV Charging Solutions Limited (TPEVCSL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has partnered with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure along the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. As part of the collaboration, the company has launched ultra-fast EV charging stations at the 63rd and 69th milestones on the Haryana section of the expressway.
The Delhi–Mumbai Expressway, stretching more than 1,350 kilometres, is one of India’s most important transport corridors, connecting major commercial and industrial regions. The newly installed charging stations are designed to improve long-distance EV travel by offering faster and more accessible charging facilities for commuters travelling in both directions.
TPEVCSL has installed 240 kW ultra-fast chargers equipped with four charging guns, allowing multiple electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. One charging station serves vehicles travelling from Delhi, while the second station on the opposite carriageway supports traffic moving toward the capital. The facilities are located within Indian Oil’s Wayside Amenities hubs, which are being developed as modern highway service centers with food outlets, retail spaces, parking areas, and rest facilities for travellers.
The new charging infrastructure is expected to reduce charging time for EV users and support the growing adoption of electric mobility across India’s highway network. The stations are suitable for both personal and commercial electric vehicles, strengthening Tata Power’s expanding intercity charging network.
Under its EZ Charge brand, Tata Power has built one of India’s largest EV charging networks, with more than 6,700 public, semi-public, and fleet charging points across over 690 cities and towns. The company also operates more than 2 lakh home chargers and over 1,200 e-bus charging points.
Beyond EV charging, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited continues expanding its renewable energy portfolio, which currently stands at 11.6 GW across solar and wind projects.
