Avalon will invest ₹10 billion for an electronic components facility in Kanchipuram, Supermicro will establish its first India facility with a ₹4.77 billion investment, while Aheesa will invest ₹2.5 billion in Chennai.

Homegrown Avalon Technologies, US based AI server maker Supermicro, and India’s Aheesa digital innovations have separately signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the Tamil Nadu government, during the investors’ conference, to cumulatively invest ₹17.27 billion ($181 million) in the state.
Of this, Avalon will invest $105 million for an electronic components facility in Kanchipuram, and Supermicro will establish its first facility of server assembly operations in Chennai, with an investment of approximately $50 million. Aheesa, a fabless semiconductor company will invest $26 million in Chennai for the development of networking chips, router operating systems, and original equipment manufacturer OEM platforms.
The MoUs were exchanged at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investors’ Conclave 2026, in the presence of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay.
Aheesa, with its flagship product VIHAAN-I, a broadband networking SoC (system-on-chip) built on the RISC-V architecture, recently initiated its multi-project wafer (MPW). The Chennai centre is expected to expand the company’s design, research and development, and product engineering capabilities.
Moreover, Lighthouse Green Data Centre pledged $1.05 billion investment in Thoothukodi to set up a hyperscale data centre, while Nxtra by Airtel will invest close to $150 million to expand its Chennai facility and edge data centre in Trichy.
State industry minister S. Keerathana has set a 21-day deadline for issuing approvals, licences, and no objection certificates (NOCs), in a move to improve the ease of doing business in the state according to a Times of India report.
