The investment forms part of Hero MotoCorp’s previously announced plan to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore in Ather Energy through a preferential issue.
Hero MotoCorp has committed nearly Rs 960 crore to electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy by subscribing to 76,19,047 convertible warrants issued through a preferential allotment.
Ather Energy has priced the warrants at Rs 1,260 each, with every warrant carrying the option to convert into one equity share of the company. The total subscription value stands at Rs 959.99 crore.
The investment is part of Hero MotoCorp’s previously announced plan to invest up to Rs 1,000 crore in Ather Energy, in which it is an associate company.
Hero MotoCorp’s Ather Energy investment
Hero MotoCorp has paid Rs 239.99 crore upfront, representing 25% of the issue price of each warrant. The remaining 75%, amounting to Rs 719.99 crore in aggregate, will become payable if and when the company chooses to exercise the warrants and convert them into equity shares.
The transaction was disclosed by Hero MotoCorp in a regulatory filing dated August 25, 2026, under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
The preferential issuance has been carried out in compliance with the Companies Act, 2013, and the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Issue of Capital and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2018.
The latest transaction further strengthens Hero MotoCorp’s financial involvement in Ather Energy as the two-wheeler industry continues to expand its focus on electric mobility.
