MulticoreWare Acquires Simulus Automation to Strengthen Semiconductor Design and Verification Capabilities

The combined expertise is expected to support applications such as sensor fusion, physical AI, edge computing and robotics

MulticoreWare has acquired Simulus Automation Pvt. Ltd., a semiconductor design and verification company serving customers developing system-on-chips (SoCs), chipsets and accelerator technologies.

The acquisition comes as the semiconductor industry increasingly moves towards hardware-software co-design, with heterogeneous SoCs integrating CPU, GPU, DSP, NPU and programmable logic such as FPGAs. As these architectures become more complex, high-speed data movement and connectivity are emerging as key challenges for system designers.

By integrating Simulus Automation’s hardware design and verification expertise with MulticoreWare’s software engineering capabilities, the companies aim to create a more integrated development pipeline spanning silicon architecture, design, verification and software deployment.

The acquisition expands MulticoreWare’s capabilities in FPGA-based high-performance computing, including High-Level Synthesis (HLS) and RTL implementations. The combined expertise is expected to support applications such as sensor fusion, physical AI, edge computing and robotics.

MulticoreWare will also strengthen its capabilities in advanced connectivity technologies, particularly Compute Express Link (CXL) and PCI Express (PCIe). These technologies are increasingly important for enabling high-bandwidth and low-latency communication between processing elements in complex computing systems.

The combined organisation will also expand its capabilities in cloud-based FPGA deployment, enabling customers to distribute workloads and emulate AI applications across cloud FPGA infrastructure.

“Bringing Simulus into the MulticoreWare family ensures our clients can benefit from tightly integrated design pipelines, maximise power efficiency, solve interconnect challenges, and accelerate time-to-market,” said AGK Karunakaran, President and CEO, MulticoreWare.

Karthick Gopal, CEO of Simulus Automation, said the combination of Simulus’ design and verification expertise with MulticoreWare’s semiconductor and AI capabilities would enable the companies to deliver greater value to customers developing next-generation silicon platforms.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen MulticoreWare’s ability to address growing demand for AI infrastructure, spatial intelligence, industrial automation and edge computing, while helping semiconductor companies tackle increasingly complex hardware and software development challenges.
