Silicon Valley-based electronics manufacturing services provider Absolute EMS has expanded its production capabilities with the installation of a Pillarhouse JADE S-200 MKII selective soldering system.
The new system is aimed at improving process consistency, flexibility, and capacity for demanding PCB assembly requirements, particularly for small- and medium-batch production.
The JADE S-200 MKII is a handload, single-point selective soldering system designed to apply solder to specific through-hole connections. It can accommodate PCBs or pallets measuring up to 457 × 508 mm (18 × 20 inches).
The system features a three-axis solder bath and pump mechanism for controlled solder application, along with a Drop-Jet fluxing system. An inert nitrogen environment helps reduce oxidation and improve solder wetting. The system also supports lead-free soldering processes.
For Absolute EMS, the installation adds another option for applications where selective soldering can offer advantages over wave or manual soldering. The process enables repeatable solder joints, reduced thermal exposure to surrounding components, and greater control over individual through-hole connections.
