ELCINA partners with EFY Expo 2011 as ‘exhibition and knowledge partner’

By Singam Rebika Devi

ELCINA (Electronic Industries Association of India), the oldest and largest electronics association and an interactive forum for electronics and IT manufacturers, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Electronics For You (EFY) Group to partner the Electronics For You Expo 2011 as ‘exhibition and knowledge partner’. The expo will be organised at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 16-18, 2011, and is expected to be one of India’s leading events for electronics industry. While this is a special ‘partnership’ with EFY, ELCINA being a neutral industry promotion body, is also providing support to other exhibitions catering to the electronics sector.

One of the major objectives for ELCINA in partnering the event is to establish an effective and long term platform for electronics industry to showcase its products and capabilities to the domestic and global markets. In addition, ELCINA believes that by partnering with EFY Group, well known for its technical publications, databases and training for electronics skill development, there will be synergy in encouraging the domestic electronics industry. EFY Expo 2011 aims to become India’s biggest show in the electronics field.

Welcoming the initiative, Rajoo Goel, secretary general, ELCINA, comments, “The Indian electronics industry and market need a business development platform that is promoted by organisations with a long term commitment to enhance local value addition and empowerment of the electronics sector in India. ELCINA has joined hands with EFY Group as a partner because we believe that our partnership is based on these shared values and has the unflinching commitment of both the organisations. Both are keen to build a strong expo with focus on business development, supporting new ventures, SMEs and entrepreneurs, promoting innovative ideas and a better understanding of new market opportunities and technology.”

“ELCINA and EFY propose to organise buyer seller platforms, conferences, technology sharing seminars, venture capital and investment related workshops and develop the EFY Expo into a vibrant platform that would facilitate local and global business development bringing benefits to the entire electronics community. Above all, EFY Expo must serve the industry well during these critical years of high growth potential and be a catalyst for development of the industry,” Goel adds.

By bringing buyers, sellers, innovators and designers under one roof, EFY Expo aims to bring the entire electronics ecosystem together. Efforts are being made to make the expo the largest event in northern India and possibly across the country with an exhibition area spanning over 14,000 sq m across five halls.

EFY Group will also organise EFY Awards, CEO/CTO Summit, Design Engineers’ Conference and Seminar on Best Practices in Electronics Manufacturing and other programmes in parallel to the exposition.
