The collaboration will initially focus on AI data centre power supply units (PSUs) and the exploration of additional power-conversion topologies
Wise Integration SAS and Navitas Semiconductor have announced an agreement to collaborate on power-computing applications for AI PCs, high-end workstations, gaming desktops, industrial systems, and AI data centres.
The companies will combine Wise Integration’s distributed digital control technology with Navitas’ gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) power semiconductor technologies to explore high-voltage, high-power and high-efficiency power-conversion solutions.
The collaboration will initially focus on AI data centre power supply units (PSUs) and the exploration of additional power-conversion topologies. The companies aim to address power-conversion requirements across the grid-to-chip infrastructure, where increasing AI workloads are driving demand for higher efficiency and power density.
According to the companies, AI data centres and performance-computing systems are increasing energy requirements and creating a need for new power-conversion architectures. The combination of wide-bandgap semiconductors and digital control is expected to support the development of more compact and efficient power systems.
“Wide-bandgap technologies are unlocking new levels of power density and efficiency, but realising their full potential requires advanced control. With WiseWare, we bring the digital intelligence needed to optimise power conversion in real time,” said Ghislain Kaiser, CEO, Wise Integration.
Vipin Bothra, Vice President, Global Solution Marketing, Navitas Semiconductor, said the collaboration aims to address the growing demand from AI data centres and performance-computing applications for higher efficiency and power density by combining Navitas’ GaN and SiC technologies with Wise Integration’s digital-control capabilities.
