DJK plans to expand its semiconductor business in India with backend equipment and additional sales and engineering staff as projects enter mass production.
DAIICHI JITSUGYO INDIA PVT LTD (DJK) will supply backend process equipment and provide engineering support in India as semiconductor projects move from pilot production to mass production.
“Some customers now have pilot factories and are moving towards mass production. We bring equipment vendors to India and connect them with these customers. I think this is our mission,” Hiroyuki said.
DJK plans to increase its sales and engineering workforce in India to support this business. DJK operates as a trading company and does not manufacture the equipment itself. It plans to hire people with experience in the semiconductor market.
“We do not manufacture here. As an investment and trading company, we need the right people to support our business. So, we are now trying to hire more salespeople and engineers with experience in the semiconductor market,” Hiroyuki said.
The move towards mass production could create more opportunities for semiconductor equipment suppliers. DJK plans to support these projects through equipment supply and engineering services.
“India has significant potential demand for semiconductor devices. In the future, we want to expand our presence in the Indian semiconductor market, especially by supplying backend process equipment,” Hiroyuki said.
DJK has been operating in India for more than 20 years, with businesses across electronics, automotive, healthcare, and other sectors. It is also looking to expand its semiconductor business across markets including Japan, Korea, China, Europe, and the US.
In India, the company’s immediate focus is on equipment supply and customer support rather than setting up manufacturing operations.
