The new Haryana facility along NH-48 corridor enables seven-minute battery swaps for electric freight vehicles.
Energy In Motion Ltd (EIM) has inaugurated a heavy-duty battery swapping-cum-charging station in Rewari, Haryana, expanding its network along the NH-48 Delhi–Mumbai freight corridor.
The facility was opened by Dr Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Heavy Industries, alongside delegates from Dalmia Cement, UltraTech Cement, and Drivn. Joined by existing operational hubs at Palwal and Kotputli, the Rewari site features a connected load capacity of 2.5 MW.
Designed for electric heavy commercial vehicles (e-HCVs), the station operates on a battery-swapping model to eliminate conventional charging downtime. The Rewari hub can replace an e-HCV battery pack in approximately seven minutes—compared with 55–60 minutes for standard fast-charging—and can process over 150 vehicles daily.
EIM estimates its 350 kWh swapping infrastructure increases monthly freight return trips by roughly 10 per cent. The firm aims to establish 40 swapping-cum-charging stations across India this financial year.
To boost adoption, EIM offers its Maitryi Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) commercial model, which reduces upfront electric truck acquisition costs by around 40 per cent.
