Trontek Sets 2028 Target For 12 GWh Annual BESS Capacity

Trontek Electronics targets 12 GWh of annual BESS manufacturing capacity by 2028, expanding its energy storage portfolio to serve commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications.

Trontek Electronics plans to expand its annual Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) manufacturing capacity to 12 GWh by 2028, targeting growing demand across commercial, industrial and utility-scale energy storage markets.

The Indian energy technology company is introducing a BESS portfolio spanning 215 kWh to 5 MWh for residential, commercial, industrial and utility-scale applications. Its 215 kWh-class systems target hotels, offices and small and medium-sized manufacturing facilities, while its 418 kWh-class systems are designed for factories, warehouses, hospitals and industrial campuses. The 5 MWh systems target industrial parks, utilities and large solar-plus-storage projects.

The systems are designed to support demand management, energy optimisation, power reliability, renewable energy integration and grid flexibility. Residential solutions focus on household energy management, renewable energy utilisation and power resilience.

The expansion builds on Trontek’s more than two decades of experience in battery technology, electric mobility, charging infrastructure and energy solutions.

Samrath S. Kochar, Founder and CEO of Trontek, said, “BESS is the next evolution of Trontek’s two-decade journey in battery and energy technology — taking our expertise from powering applications to enabling energy systems at scale, built in India for the opportunities ahead.”

The company aims to extend its battery technology expertise to larger energy storage systems as India’s demand for energy storage grows.
