The homegrown appliance brand boosts local output and targets new product categories with advanced, AI-driven expansion site.
Indian domestic appliances manufacturer Thermocool Home Appliances has announced plans to invest around $4.8 million (₹40 crore) in a new manufacturing facility in Ghaziabad to significantly scale up its in-house production capabilities.
Spanning roughly two acres with a built-up area of 40,000 to 60,000 square feet, the new site is designed to produce 300,000 to 400,000 air coolers, 300,000 to 500,000 fans, and 100,000 to 200,000 small appliances annually. The expansion is aimed at strengthening backward integration, giving the company greater control over its supply chain, quality standards, and overall manufacturing ecosystem as demand grows across key markets.
According to Tushar Gupta, director of operations at Thermocool, the facility represents a pivotal step in supporting long-term growth and enabling a faster response to shifting consumer preferences. The plant will incorporate semi-automation, AI-powered quality control, and sustainable practices. The brand, which already operates a 25,000-square-foot plant in Ghaziabad, is currently working to boost its daily air-cooler output by 25 to 35 per cent from its existing rate of 2,000 to 3,000 units, having already achieved nearly 90 per cent backward integration in that segment.
With a distribution network covering over 300 distributors, roughly 5,000 retail outlets, and an expanding e-commerce presence across India, Thermocool is also eyeing further market diversification. The company is actively exploring entries into new categories, including air conditioners, washing machines, refrigerators, and televisions.
