Sandisk has been named the sole supplier of next-generation flash storage solutions for Meta Platforms’ upcoming virtual reality (VR) glasses, scheduled for release in Spring 2027.

Co-developed alongside Meta, the newly announced range will form part of the official ‘Made for Meta’ ecosystem. Tested and certified for the new headsets, the lineup comprises high-performance Sandisk microSD Express cards and USB-C flash drives. These products are designed to support expanding libraries of games, applications, and VR content, enabling users to enjoy a more immersive virtual experience.

Commenting on the partnership, Susan Park, Vice-President of Consumer Product Management at Sandisk, expressed excitement about supporting Meta’s vision for the future of virtual reality. She noted that the high-speed microSD Express cards integrate smoothly with the headsets, offering instant expansion for users to store and access their favourite media and entertainment seamlessly.
