The integration will enable the company’s Video Dragon platform to test and simulate ASA-ML components
GÖPEL Electronic and Microchip Technology are expanding their collaboration in ASA Motion Link (ASA-ML) technology to strengthen the ecosystem for high-speed automotive connectivity and testing.
As part of the collaboration, GÖPEL electronic is integrating ASA-ML technology into its modular frame grabber and frame generator solutions using SerDes chipsets from Microchip. The integration will enable the company’s Video Dragon platform to test and simulate ASA-ML components.
ASA-ML is made by the Automotive SerDes Alliance. It is an open standard which enables data rates of up to 16 Gbit/s and enables compatibility between cameras, sensors and other vehicle components from different vendors. The technology is being created to help advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and future automated driving functions.
With the combination of Microchip’s SerDes technology and GÖPEL electronic’s video-based test solutions, the companies aim to simplify the development, testing and validation of multi-vendor ASA-ML systems. The partnership will also increase the adoption of the open standard by automakers and automotive suppliers.
“The expanded ecosystem would provide automakers and suppliers with greater flexibility and interoperability, helping them move from development to deployment more efficiently”, said Kevin So, vice president of Microchip’s Communications business unit.
