Global electronics distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry’s largest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, was awarded the EDN China innovation Award, “Engineers’ Choice: International Distributor of the Year” for 2012. Digi-Key President Mark Larson accepted the honor at an EDN China awards ceremony which was held during the electronica 2012 tradeshow in Munich.

Based on online votes by EDN’s online readers and a committee consisting of industry experts and EDN’s editorial board, this year’s winners were selected based on an organization’s technical design capability, customer service and market reputation.
The Innovation Award focuses on products, technologies and services favored by China’s electronics design engineers. The “Engineers’ Choice: International Distributor of the Year” category was created after EDN China identified that technical support from distributors, and their cooperation with electronic design engineers, is one of the important factors for helping or hindering innovation in electronic applications.
