Uno Minda, a part of NK Minda Group, and an auto components manufacturer, and AMS of Korea have announced a joint agreement of entering into a technical licence agreement for design, manufacture and sale of automotive lamps in India. According to the agreement, AMS will provide technical support to manufacture automotive lamps, and will also support with new LED technologies. Commenting on the pact, N K Minda, chairman and managing director, Uno Minda, reportedly said that although AMS is comparatively a new company, it has good inhouse technologies and experts to handle them. The company has the experience of designing and manufacturing lamps for some of the major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in Korea. When asked to comment on India market, S M Park, president, AMS reportedly said, that since India is a growing market it is an important market to penetrate, and bring in best practices to Indian OEMs. Uno Minda had also recently entered into a joint venture with Japan based Nabtesco Automotive Corporation.
