Rajasthan has a vital role to play in establishing India’s solar future and the state will be joined by Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu too. In another solar-related development for the state, it will soon have another solar plant.
The solar plant will be set up by an independent power producer, Green Infra and a German company called juwi India. The companies will be commissioning a 15 MW solar plant at Vill Bap Tehsil Phalodi, in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, according to a TOI report.
Green Infra, incubated by IDFC Private Equity, is setting up a total of 25 MW in the region across two plants as part of the contracts signed with juwi India for 5 MW under Green Infra Solar Projects Limited and the rest 20 MW will be under Green Infra Solar Farms Ltd.
Shiv Nimbargi, managing director and CEO, Green Infra and Rajeshwara Bhat, managing director, juwi India have reportedly said, “These plants bear testimony to Green Infra and juwi’s continuous commitment to create new benchmarks in delivering solar electricity to the Indian grid at a competitive price, by leveraging Green Infra’s project development strength and juwi’s strong engineering and execution capabilities. India has become one of the most promising solar markets in the world today. Green Infra and juwi India together look to play a key role in developing India’s solar market and in connecting larger plants to the grid in the coming years.”
