This entirely balances the fullHD (1080p) playback capability of the chip. You can even upscale the chip to 1080i HD transmission that we normally get through a fullHD signal, which results in producing better quality picture.
With the new chip, it would be possible for set-top boxes to cater to OTT (over the top) services such as Youtube or Hungama along with Wi-fi. When asked about the possibilities of 3D transmission through set-top boxes, Patrick Dou had a negative notion about the concept taking into consideration different variables involved in 3D video in all terms, be it production or consumption.
