New Delhi, January 29, 2014: Keysight Technologies, which was earlier called Agilent Technologies, the electronic measurement company that spinned off in early November 2013, will start its marketing activities soon to rebrand itself. Company with continue to do business under the name Agilent Technologies till the completion of all the legal formalities for Keysight Technologies. “Starting August 1, 2014, we will operate under the new name Keysight Technologies,” Sudhir Tangri, country manager, Agilent EMG told EE Times India.
Keysight Technologies will focus completely on electronic measurement business, which is the core business of Agilent. In coversation with EE Times India, Sudhir Tangri said “Post the split, Keysight will be approximately a $3 billion organisation, and Agilent, which is the life science part, is going to be a $4 billion company. And, the ratio is going to be very similar in India as well. So, you can make a conclusion that Agilent’s life sciences division is ahead of the electronic measurement division in India.”
Earlier in January, the company clarified that the name Keysight conveys the ability to see what others cannot, offering the critical or key insights to understand and unlock the changing technology landscape. The new company’s tagline, “unlocking measurement insights for 75 years,” commemorates the 1939 birth of the original Hewlett-Packard Company, from which Keysight originated.
“Keysight reflects our rich heritage—a direct line from both Hewlett-Packard’s standards of integrity and innovation and Agilent’s premier measurement business,” said Ron Nersesian, president and CEO, Keysight in a press release.
“This name captures the spirit of our organization—innovative, insightful and forward-looking,” said Nersesian, who added, “While Keysight is built on ‘firsts’ dating back to the birth of Silicon Valley, as a new company we are committed to bringing our customers a new generation of firsts—unlocking insights for them so they can in turn bring a new generation of technologies into the world.”
