Solar developers have to make an earnest money deposit of Rs. 2,00,000 per MW to set up the solar park in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender to set up 200 MW private solar park in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Solar Energy Policy 2017 and the Ministry of New and Renewables Energy’s (MNRE) guidelines.

Solar developers will get the support to strengthen the grid network and the electricity distribution companies of India (DISCOMs) will offer 100 per cent power purchases that will be generated by the solar park. Bidders will have to make an earnest money deposit (EMD) of around Rs. 2,00,000 per MW. The deadline for bid submission has been set as December 10. Technical bids can be made by December 11 and the financial bids will kickstart on December 19, 2018. The minimum capacity has been kept at 50 MW for each solar park.
The developers will be accountable for the creation of the internal transmission system, forecasting and scheduling, land acquisition and operations and maintenance services.
Solar power in UP
The Uttar Pradesh government had set a target of10,700 MW for solar power, including 4,300 MW from rooftop solar projects, by 2022. The state’s Electricity Regulatory Commission had also amended the Captive and Renewable Energy Generating Projects (CRE) Regulations 2014 with reforms that are expected to reduce the cost of solar power acquired from standalone projects in the state. The association had earlier issued a solar tender for 550 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic power projects.
