Intel Aquihires About 100 Engineers of Hyderabad-based Startup Ineda

Intel may also acquire the leased Ineda office in Kondapur which currently houses the engineering talent acquired.

US-based chip giant Intel Corporation has acquired Hyderabad-based startup Ineda Systems, a low-key fabless semiconductor product company, for an undisclosed amount.

Set up in 2010-11 by Hyderabad-based serial entrepreneur Dasaradha Gude, Ineda operates in the sphere of autonomous driving, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT).

The acquisition is mainly for the skill sets of its workforce rather than its products or services, TOI reported.

Intel has acquihired around 100 engineers of Ineda for their skills in graphics, the report said.

“Intel acquired engineering resources from Ineda Systems, a silicon and platform services provider based in Hyderabad. This transaction provides Intel with an experienced SOC (system on chip) team to help build a world-class discrete GPU business,” an Intel spokesperson told TOI.

Global technology center in Hyderabad planned

Intel may also acquire the leased Ineda Systems office in Kondapur, located near Google, which currently houses the engineering talent acquired.

Currently, Intel has a few hundred engineers engaged in software development in Hyderabad and it plans to set up a global technology center in the city.

Initially, the company plans to have around 1,500 engineers at the center, which may be ramped up to 5,000 people.
