Spread across 6968 sq m, the facility includes space for electronics manufacturing, warehousing and offices. The company will be manufacturing electronic instruments, process control systems, sensors and process transmitters in this facility

Swelect Energy Systems Ltd

Manufactures:Solar PV modules and converters

Swelect Energy Systems has commissioned its 15 MW solar energy park near Vellakoil in Karur district, Tamil Nadu. The total investment involved in the project is around Rs 1060 million. On an average, 75,000 units of power will be generated by this plant.

Manufactures: Solar off-grid products

Gautam Solar, formerly known as Gautam Polymers, has set up a new manufacturing facility in Haridwar. Spread across 1000 sq m, it is located near its existing facility with 25 MW of annual capacity.

Harman International

Manufactures: Audio equipment for automotive and consumer electronics

Harman International has set up a production facility in Pune. The company will assemble car infotainment systems for domestic car makers. The Indian facility is expected to go on stream by June 2014. The company has invested around Rs 200 million in this venture and the Pune facility will employ around 100 people.

NTPC Ltd

Deals in: Power generation (generation and sale of electricity)

NTPC has completed its 50 MW solar power project in Rajgarh in Madhya. With this, NTPC’s portfolio of completed solar power plants adds up to a capacity of 95 MW. In March, it announced the commissioning of the Talcher Kaniha (10 MW) solar power project. Another 15 MW solar power plant in Singrauli, Uttar Pradesh, is currently under development. NTPC’s objective is to generate 128 GW of power by 2032. Its target is to generate 28 per cent of its power from non-fossil fuels.

Welspun Renewable Energy

Deals in: Engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)

Welspun Renewable Energy has commissioned a 19 MW solar project in Chitradurga district in Karnataka. While the company had earlier commissioned 8 MW, it took just three months to commission the remaining capacity of 11 MW. This project will supply power to the grid for the next 25 years with enough clean energy to power 48,000 homes.
