ST’s Strategic Focus Enabling Smart and Sustainable Solutions

STMicroelectronics (ST) is strategically targeting three fundamental enablers: smart driving, power and energy, and responsible cities, all contributing to the advancement of smart cities. Our commitment extends beyond words, backed by substantial investments and concrete actions:

Investment in Capacity and Product Development. ST has been investing significantly in both capacity and product development in these domains for years, aligning with our dedication to sustainability.

Greenhouse Gas Reduction. In a tangible example, last year, 38% of our revenue, based on product offerings, aimed at achieving substantial greenhouse gas reduction, aligning with Europe’s regulatory taxonomy eligibility criteria.

CapEx Aligned with Sustainability. In 2022, a remarkable 46% of our Capital Expenditure (CapEx) was directed toward products and technology designed for substantial greenhouse gas reduction across their entire life cycle.

These investments reflect our commitment to designing products with sustainability in mind, even if their applications don’t exclusively fall into the “green” category. Our dedication to sustainability is evident as our CapEx allocation for responsible and sustainable technology products surpasses the revenue percentage of the current year. We are confident that we will achieve our goal of 33% sustainability by 2027, possibly even ahead of schedule, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to a greener future.
