MediaTek Expands Its Dimensity Portfolio at Tech Day 2026

An expanded Dimensity line-up took centre stage at Tech Day, signalling premium momentum and a roadmap shaped by long standing OEM partnerships.

MediaTek marked its Tech Day in New Delhi by reinforcing its growing presence in India’s premium smartphone market, highlighting the market momentum of the Dimensity 8500 while unveiling the Dimensity 9500s as its next flagship platform. The gathering brought together media, analysts, and leading smartphone brands, balancing discussions around silicon innovation with the importance of long term OEM collaboration.

The newly announced flagship platform took centre stage, built on a 3nm process and an All Big Core CPU architecture aimed at next generation devices. The platform emphasizes sustained performance, immersive gaming supported by ray tracing, and an advanced NPU optimized for generative and multimodal AI workloads. Imaging capabilities include 8K Dolby Vision HDR video with real time motion tracking and AI enhanced photography features.

The company also reiterated the role of its premium tier platform, which continues to serve as a foundation for high performance smartphones. Based on a 4nm process, it focuses on efficiency, AI driven imaging, and improved gaming stability, helping bring advanced features to a broader range of devices.

OEM partners including OPPO and Xiaomi reflected on the evolution of their collaboration, tracing a journey from mainstream smartphones to premium and flagship products. OPPO confirmed that its upcoming Find X9s for India will use the newly announced flagship platform, while Xiaomi and POCO executives emphasized the role of close silicon level collaboration in enabling performance led device strategies.

Anku Jain, managing director at MediaTek, India, says, “While smartphones remain a strong segment for us, we are increasingly focusing on new and promising verticals such as data centres and mobility solutions. Initiatives like collaborating UV10 with NVIDIA supercomputing platforms position us well for the coming years. The semiconductor industry has vast scope to evolve, and with our strong OEM partners, we see significant opportunities ahead.”
