AgVa Healthcare is Manufacturing 10000 Medical Ventilators Under PM CARES Fund

  • A total of 50,000 medical ventilators are being made under the PM CARES FUND
  • PM CARES Fund Trust has allocated Rs 2000 crore for supply of 50000 ‘Made-in-India’ ventilators

AgVa Healthcare is manufacturing 10,000 medical ventilators under the PM CARES fund while M/s Bharat Electronics Limited is manufacturing around 30,000 of these under the same fund. PM CARES Fund Trust has allocated Rs 2000 crore for supply of 50000 ‘Made-in-India’ ventilators to government run COVID hospitals in all States/UTs.

It is to be noted here that AgVa healthcare has earlier noted about the development of world’s most economical ventilator. M/s Bharat Electronics Limited operates under the umbrella of the government of India.

Duwakar Vaish, co-founder, AgVa Healthcare, in April 2020, had said that his startup was looking to manufacture 20,000 ventilators in the next 30 days. The GOI had back then reached out to the company to manufacture 5,000 ventilators by 15 April 2020.

AMTZ and Allied Medical also in the list

Apart from the AgVa healthcare and M/s Bharat Electronics Limited, AMTZ and Allied Medical, are also manufacturing medical ventialtors under the PM CARES Fund. AMTZ Basic is manufacturing 5650 ventilators while AMTZ High End and Allied Medical are manufacturing 4,000 and 350 of these respectively.

So far 2923 ventilators have been manufactured, out of which 1340 ventilators have already been delivered to the States/UTs. The recipients include Maharashtra (275), Delhi (275), Gujarat (175), Bihar (100), Karnataka (90), Rajasthan (75). By the end of June 2020, additional 14,000 ventilators will be delivered to all States/UTs.

Medical ventilators are considered as essentials in the fight against Coronavirus. The government of India has even banned the export of these along with some other essential electronics.
