Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan feels that the country needs to adopt alternate source of energy to combat climate change

India needs to develop cost-effective and efficient solar devices if it wants to combat climate change. Moreover there should be an awareness drive which focuses on usage of alternate source of energy. This was stated by Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been quite bullish about using solar energy on the country and recently India tied up with Germany where it has pledged to invest $2.3 billion to develop the country’s green energy development.

“It is very important for India to tackle the problem of climate change by using alternate source of energy and I feel we as a country should develop cost-effective and efficient electric lamps and other solar devices. This is help us in making this country green,” said Vardhan.

In the beginning of this month, the country’s climate action plan has pledged to cut emission intensity by 35 per cent in the next 15 years.
