The company plans to expand and grow this base from 750 MW to 3,000 MW plant. This expansion will result in the employment creation of additional two thousand jobs
Solar EPC manufacturing company Premier Energies on Thursday inaugurated its 750 MW solar module manufacturing and solar cell manufacturing facility built with an investment of Rs 483 crore at Fabcity in Hyderabad, Telangana.
With the commissioning of this plant, Premier Energies has now become the second-largest integrated solar equipment manufacturing facility in India and the largest in South India.
The formal inauguration of this new plant was done by Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD) Minister KT Rama Rao.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Premier Energies Founder and Managing Director, Chiranjeev Saluja, said, “We, at Premier Energies, realise that the future of the power industry in India is going to be driven by renewable energy and dominated by solar energy. With the increased adoption of automation and robotics, our new factory is at par with some of the leading manufacturing companies across the world. We are proud to announce that with the commissioning of this plant, premier energies is the second-largest integrated facility in India and the largest in south India.”
Saluja also expressed that the company plans to expand and grow this base from 750 MW to 3,000 MW plant. This expansion will result in the employment creation of additional two thousand jobs.
The state government of Telangana had allotted the land as well as additional incentives for the project in 2019. The plant has been constructed within 18 months of land allotment.
“Construction of this greenfield project in record time despite two covid waves was a great challenge and would not have been possible without the support of our premier family and committed vendors,” he added.
“We will keep continuing to work towards the latest technology and make Telangana a solar manufacturing hub,” he said.
Sudhir Reddy, Director of Premier Solar Powertech Ltd, said, “This facility today holds one of the best in class technology for manufacturing of high-efficiency mono perc solar cells of M10 and M12 size. This facility also holds one of the most automated solar module manufacturing lines capable to handle the latest hand-cut and bifacial modules which are the latest module technologies and also help us compete with the best in the field. As we grow more, we shall compete on the world stage and make a mark for Indian products.”
